Reader questions

You asked, we answered

Real questions from the mailbag. Real answers, no waffling.

Q1 Can I stack magnesium glycinate with melatonin? +
Yes for most adults. Glycinate is well-tolerated at 300-400 mg, and low-dose melatonin (0.3-1 mg) does not clash pharmacokinetically. If either causes vivid dreams, drop the melatonin.
Q2 Does creatine really need a loading phase? +
No. The saturation math works out the same whether you take 5 g/day for 4 weeks or 20 g/day for 5 days. Loading just adds GI discomfort with no long-term advantage.
Q3 Should I take vitamin D with vitamin K2? +
If you are supplementing D at >2000 IU/day and eat little dark leafy greens/fermented food, adding 100-200 mcg K2-MK7 is reasonable. Otherwise, the pairing benefits are marginal.

What to look for

Reading labels: what matters

Labels carry claims. Some help you pick well, some are marketing dressing. Here is what to actually check.

FDA-Registered Facility
The manufacturing site is registered with the FDA, meaning it is inspected for basic sanitation and record-keeping. It does NOT mean the supplement itself is FDA-approved (supplements never are).
GMP-Certified
Good Manufacturing Practice — an independent audit verifies the facility follows consistent quality control, batch testing, and contamination prevention. A meaningful indicator of production reliability.
Non-GMO
Ingredients are not derived from genetically modified organisms. Not the same as "organic" — non-GMO says nothing about pesticide use or farming practices.
3rd-Party Tested
An independent lab (NSF, USP, ConsumerLab, or similar) verified ingredient identity, dosage accuracy, and absence of contaminants. The strongest quality signal.
Made in USA
Final product manufactured on US soil under US labor and safety regulations. Raw ingredients may still come from international suppliers.
180-day Money-Back
Full refund window from purchase date. Longer guarantees indicate manufacturer confidence in results and lower financial risk for the first-time buyer.
